Remember when you first started working in your field or started your own business? Remember how excited you were about this phenomenal moment in your life and the goals you set for yourself and your company? Now do a self-check for a moment… Are you still just as excited?
Now years after the business has been up and running, you have experienced the struggles of dealing with difficult clients, collections issues, employees coming and going, changes in your industry and the economy… how do you feel about your brand today? If you aren’t excited about your brand it is time you renew your brand enthusiasm.
In order for your clients or potential clients to be excited about your products and services they have to feel that excitement in everything you do. They need to feel your passion and energy; your customers will feed off of this. If you are not excited about what your brand, why would anyone else be either? Want to attract new clients and ensure your customers return? Get excited.
Everyday you should be so excited that you are dying to tell the world about your business or at least your target audience. Your energy, good or bad, is contagious; therefore, it’s time you be your own cheerleader and spread the word about how great your brand is.
So what do you do to get that excitement back?
1. Get excited about YOU!
Remember that you may have many competitors offering the same services or products you do but there is only one YOU. Your personal brand, your personality, your style, your ethics, your customer service, your love for what you do is what makes your business different from any other. It’s time to get excited about YOU!
2. Get excited about your clients
This is probably the most important of all the tips. Don’t just be in it for the money; if you love what you do it isn’t hard to get personally invested in your clients by sharing how your products or services have benefited them. Share their stories on your social media platforms and in your business blog.
3. Start attending networking events
not with the mindset of selling but to meet other professionals. This is a great way to meet new people, possible clientele and learn some new marketing techniques. It is amazing how just talking with people can help you find out what you have been missing in your industry while you have been buried in work.
4. Upgrade your branding / marketing material
– business cards, brochures, website, logo, etc. Look around and see what other companies are doing. Is your branding material dated? If so it may be time for a new fresh look and feel.
5. Hire a new sales associate, business assistant or intern
If your business can’t afford to pay an employee right now hire an intern. Someone that has a passion for what you do with fresh ideas that match your brand message. Their excitement and new ideas can reignite passion, fueling positive energy in your brand.
6. Check out what your competitors are doing
There is nothing like seeing what your competitors are doing right to light a fire under your butt and get you motivated. Once you are motivated the sky is the limit.
7. Reevaluate your business and focus
Maybe some of the services and products you are offering are no longer selling well because they are becoming irrelevant or obsolete… It could be time to go back to the drawing board and refocus your brand by eliminating products/services that aren’t selling well and center your attentions on the products/services that are.
8. Put some emotion and passion behind your brand
There are plenty of blah branding messages out there, you can no longer afford to be one of them…. Give your brand a story and a meaning; stand for something, be distinctive, don’t be afraid to be unique.
You are the brand leader of your company therefore it all starts with you. If you don’t think your message is worth sharing it is time now to stop and reevaluate what you do and refocus your brand based on your strengths. It’s time to Get excited and you have no time to lose… start NOW!
